Mike McNulty contacted me the other day to remind me of a great event that is coming up on Monday, June 16th – by Third Tuesday Ottawa.
Michael McDerment and Sault Colt from Freshbooks will be talking about how Social Media helped spread the word about their company (which is doing quite well). It should be an entertaining and informative presentation
Here are the details:
What: Freshbooks’ Michael McDerment and Saul Colt
When: Monday, June 16, 6:00 PM
Kwout.com is an amazing tool for blogging. Everytime I want to create a screenshot and use it to paste into my blog, I head over to kwout.com. Its really simple to use… This is one of those must use services!
I met Simon Chen at the last DemoCamp in Ottawa and he mentioned his new project called Sixent.com. I just tried out the service and created my own personal profile here: http://sixent.com/aydin/Public
Here is a screenshot:
I like Sixent since it gives me LOTS of privacy options… I get to determine who sees what and what is publicly displayed… I’d love for this profile to appear when people are searching for me… I definitely recommend everyone create one of these profiles for themselves!
The Web Weekend is the first weekend being organized (May 9-11). Motivated professionals and amateurs work together in order to create a company and launch a web product in a weekend. Make sure to sign up here: http://www.ottawaw.com/
Remember the Milk is one heck of a ToDoList application. It will plug into your Blackberry, your Gmail Account, and your Google Calendar Account. I absolutely love it! The integration is amazing! I highly recommend everyone start using this website to manage their lives…
A bunch of people have been asking me why my facebook status always says “Aydin is twittering:…”
Well, the reason is quite simple. I use a great tool called Twitter. I also installed the Twitter Facebook Application. With the facebook application, everytime I update my twitter status, my facebook status gets updated to and is prefixed with “Aydin is Twittering…”
Twitter is simply amazing… Rather than explain to you myself what it is exactly, I’ll embed this video that will tell you exactly what twitter is in plain english:
3D Browsing is just sooo much fun. It sure beats boring old 2D browsing…. that’s why I really love www.SpaceTime.com. Basically, it is a new browser that you can download that will make your life a whole lot easier and more fun by turning all your web pages into 3D images… You’ve got to try this! Although, of course, it won’t completely replace FireFox for me, but its a start…
For the SpaceTime team, not sure how possible this is, but, can we get SpaceTime as a plugin for FireFox? Perhaps with a button that we can use to turn on and off 3D? The reason I make this request is because I know you guys listen 🙂 The last 3 requests I made actually ended up in the product which basically makes me think you guys rock! 🙂
